Here's our annual attempt to predict what will happen in the world of baby boomer retirements. This is the year of the budget crunch; that factor is driving a whole lot of retirement decisions.
Henderson has the highest ratio of parks and recreation facilities per inhabitant of any town in Nevada. It also has the beautiful desert, Lake Mead, and colorful mountains nearby.
As a lake town Leesburg has unusual advantages. It has beaches on 2 different giant lakes, plus some more on smaller lakes as well. You can live in town or choose an affordable active community just outside.

CA Gay 55+ Community Faces Opposition
It could be homophobia, just plain NIMBYism, legitimate concerns about size and scale - or all 3. Whatever, one of the communities in our CA directory, Fountain Grove Lodge, is facing some serious objections. So much so that the community has stopped selling. Read the WSJ article
Barnegat is in OceanCounty just inside the barrier island of Long BeachIsland. Here you can trade crowded northern NJ for great beaches and a quieter lifestyle. Nearby towns worth checking include Brick, Little Egg Harbor, and Toms River.
